And as for why he got the WSS ride?

Mr Lorini has been a follower of WSBK since the beginning.
Like many of those in the early years, he was a big fan of `Mr Superbike'.

Seems there are plenty of sponsors out there for ASBK & ASC - imagine if all those sponsors got together in one series...

"The lack of depth in the ASBK field was clearly underlined here with more than a full-second between first and second, and yet another second back to Lovett in third."

It seems the Australian Superbike Championship does not have the best riders & teams racing in it - MA don't care about saving face do they... Time for 1 series again!

Mad Mike's Kawasaki is well developed.
Daniel's new model R1 is a work in progress, with lots to come.
The same applies to 3rd placed qualifier Chas Hearn's EBR - not only is it still stock apart from a slip-on, it's still road registered:!:

I did hear an allegation that Pirelli supplied a `special' tyre to Mike.

But the lack of distributor entries was good.
YRD were supporting many Yamaha runners, Kawasaki Oz are supporting many, and I think Phil Tainton was helping anyone on a Suzuki, not just Braydon. *

Honda? There were plenty in the Moto3 race.....

    * I've never seen PT wearing anything other than blue before...

I was impressed with Michelle Marias in the proddies (A Sth African living in WA? Who'd have thought that could happen?)

Her 3rd in race 1 after 1 rider in front crashed & win in race 3 after all 3 in front of her crashed implies she was the 4th quickest rider.
But she was catching the riders in front on both occasions and set a lap record in race 1.

Maybe she needs to work on her starts.

I hope she does some FX rounds so we can see how she goes against Sophie & Di.
