The 2018 season will be interesting. Ducati have never quite got back to their winning ways with the Panigale. Now they will go V4 @ 1000cc, arguably a more accomplish motor config than an inline 4.

Either way, those pesky kwaka's and that fella Rea will be a hard double act to beat.

    Discuss away.....

Davies was riding the friggin' wheels off that thing last year, but Rea would just disappear into the distance. Yeah, he beat him a couple of times, but the boot was well and truly on the other foot the rest of the time. Even Sykes couldn't keep up with him and you'd hardly call him slow.

Rea is going to be the man to beat, 4-for is his next mark, now he's got the 3-for in the bag.

The Ducati looked to be on par with the fours, it's just that Rea is at another level. Not sure if that's just because the bike suits him perfectly, or if he really is the Stoner of SBK.

I wonder if the new Ducati 4 will be competitive off of the bat or will it need a few seasons to get up there?

Think they'll be up there straight out of the box, results may be indifferent early on, while they're dialling things in, but would expect them to be challenging within the first few races. It's not like Ducati don't know how to build a fast bike.

If it's good, and Davies comes out storming. Rea is going to have his work cut out for him next year. The only other thing Chaz needs do is, keep it out of the kitty litter.

Laverty said the current bike cannot stop, but that the MotoGP bike is brilliant on the brakes. So they plan to incorporate what they learned during Laverty's MotoGP test to improve the WSBK bike.

Considering how much trouble BMW and Honda have had to get right up at the peaky end, it would not surprise me if Ducati will struggle. It would not surprise me if the take the title right out of the box, either, but I think it is more likely that they will struggle.

Aprilia seems to be more focused on their MotoGP effort, at present, and losing Gigi Dall'Igna to Ducati hasn't helped.
